MDS Blog Hop - What you doing with MDS in February!?

WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!
A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop.
I saw this quote somewhere on Pinterest and wanted to put it on a scrapbook page. I used the FREE One Big Sale-A-Bration 2014 Digital Ensemble download #134976.  Yours FREE when you purchase $50.00 in products whether in traditional or digital products now until March 31st!
I also used this layout and using the coloring tool as our Digi Crop challenge this week.
The colors are Midnight Muse, More Mustard, Strawberry Slush and Smoky Slate

I have been REALLY busy designing in MDS lately!  Creative explosion!

* I have been working on tons of MDS Monday Challenges for the coming weeks however I can not show you those just yet! heehee! Check back each Monday for those!
* I held a MDS Intro Class with Monika Davis on last weekend! We had lots of newbies join us and they left the class so excited and ready for our Advanced/Intermediate Class coming soon!
* Monika and I also held our first Virtual Digi Crop on Facebook! Our Digi Crop Nights at Panera had been canceled due to weather so we each came up with a challenge, invited our local gals to join us on Facebook that night. We even gave prizes! We had several people join us so we are thinking of having it again! Tentative date: March 18th! Join our Facebook group - MDS Virtual Digi Crop if you are interested! Everyone is welcome to join us!

Here are my two finished projects from the Virtual Digi Crop!

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Quite a Pair Card

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are moving on to our last project of the February box of Stampin' UP products from the 2014 Occasions Catalog!  We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop over the next few months to inspire your creative juices!
You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you come check out my watercolor tag card.

The stamp set called Quite the Pair is super cute! I immediately wanted to use this stamp image on a card. I inked it up with Stampin Up Markers in Island Indigo, Gumball Green and Chocolate Chip and placed it on a large sheet of Whisper White Cardstock.....really not aware of what to do with it. Then that Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper was in my eye site and it hit me!  I LUV with my whole heart that paper!
Some other favorite things on this card:
The negative heart shape of the tag using the Heart Collection Framelits Dies
Using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
The Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon. The best!
The Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder on the Gumball Green strip.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Leadership Petal Parade Treat

My favorite sweet treat to buy at Cracker Barrel are these lemon candy sticks! So I wanted to share my favorites with friends in a special package and this is what I came up with.
I took the Tag a Bag Gift Bags and cut it in half. Then I stitched black thread in my sewing machine to make a smaller pouch. You could just use sticky strip as well.
I used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper to make some flag banners. Stamped the Petal Parade images on Whisper White. Added an In-Color Boutique Details button and each of the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit Twine in a bow.
My favorite thing:
The arrow! I stamped the images and then free hand cut it out. I used the Flag Punch to add the Coastal Cabana tail to it.
LOTS OF FREE SALEBRATION ITEMS USED ON THIS! Do not miss out on them!
I hope that you like my lemony treat and can use it to inspire you! Check back soon for more Leadership display samples! Much more to share!

Leadership See Ya Later Gift Box

This was so fun to make! I love the idea of shaker anything even on a box!
I first cut a piece of Window sheet with the Circle Collection Framelits just a little larger than the circle window of the Decorative Window Gift Box.  I placed the 1/2" circle punch pieces of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and Gold Foil Sheet in between them. I then took the another circle framelit and cut the Paper Doily. I placed it right on top which then hid the seam of the window sheet. I used Staz-on Black Ink to stamp my image from the See Ya Later Stamp set right onto the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape. I used the Crisp Cantaloupe Twine from the Sale-A-Bration Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit. Added a little washi tape flag onto a toothpick and glue dot into place.
I hope that you like my gift box and can use it to inspire you! Check back soon for more Leadership display samples! Much more to share!

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Bliss Banner

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are moving on to our February box of Stampin' UP products from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! We hope you stay with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop over the next few months to inspire your creative juices!
You just came from Cathy Caines and next is Connie Collins, but before you come check out my Mini Memories Simply Created Album Kit and Hearts Display.

I think that this Mini Memories Simply Created Album Kit is FANTASTIC! A MUST HAVE and a steal at $14.95!  I love all of the embellishments like the gold heart shaped clips and the white and gold twine, (which I could buy a spool of it!) The designer papers are limited only to this kit and they are so beautiful! You could create multiple cards or a thinner album with it but as soon as I saw it in person....
a BANNER!
I nearly used EVERY piece in the kit to make the banner. I did some enough pieces left to make something extra. I used my e-cutter to cut the letters BLISS in Real Red. When I punched the Real Red hearts in the Full Heart Punch it gave me the idea to do the next step up on my display.....
Ta-da!  I used the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and the Full Heart Punch to make my strings of hearts. I used Real Red, Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock. I taped them onto Whisper White Baker's Twine and taped them to my frame backside. Can you tell that I love that frame for all kinds of holiday displays? You can see Halloween HERE.
Well, Valentine's Day was last week but a couple of ideas for use would be... You can do the hearts NEXT year too! And that banner would be PERFECT for a Bridal Shower!
After all, love IS bliss!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #54

Tara brings a a sketch that also challenges us to use the Align feature. I could NOT live without this feature in MDS! It is so essential to have! With all the sickness like the flu and colds around, I thought it would be good to do a get well card on this one. It is masculine too even with polka dots! Hee hee! I used the Fan Fair Kit downloads to make my card.

Leadership See Ya Later Scrapbook Page Love

Today's leadership sample is one of the fun scrapbook pages that I created. Very simple to make this one! Just cut several sheets of different designer series paper into 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 and punch with the Full Heart Punch. I used almost each pattern of the Sale-A-Bration DSP called Sweet Sorbet! Add some gold foil small hearts scattered around the page. I sewed some of the hearts with black thread and put others on with dimensionals. I inked up the See Ya Later stamp image with Basic Black and Crisp Cantaloupe markers.
That photo makes me laugh! How young we were! That is the very weekend that my husband and I fell in love. (yes, I tried being a blonde once) Very fitting for this day of love!
Happy Valentine's Day! May you find love in all that you do!

I hope that you like my card and can use it to inspire you! Check back soon for more Leadership display samples! Much more to share!

MDS Blog Hop - Love is All Around Page

WELCOME TO THE MDS BLOG HOP!
A bunch of us have joined together to share our passion for digital designing with Stampin' UP's My Digital Studio.  These ladies are SERIOUSLY talented in MDS and I am thrilled to be on this Blog Hop with them! You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month! We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop.
This week's theme is LOVE which is fitting for the week! But also it is what we LOVE about MDS!  I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!  I can not express enough of my love for this program! It sparks my creative side and can be my saving grace when I need a boost of design energy.

Ok enough of that mushy stuff, on to my page....Every once in awhile, I love to capture what is going on with my family OR our currant interests and thoughts. Bubble quotes are so trendy right now and I wanted to play with them in my new favorite download called Love Is All Around. I used the black chalkboard paper from the Convention 2012 download. I did a little re-coloring onto the Basic Black Chevron Ribbon to make to deeper color of Pool Party. The "Love" stamp image was colored with the coloring tool with Whisper White and Real Red. I also re-colored the staples on the ribbon flag on top. The photos are from a photo layout that comes right on the program and made it a simple easy start to my page.

Just click on the NEXT button and it will take you to the next person on the hop. We hope this inspires you to get into My Digital Studio! YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Artisan Wednesday Wow - Oh Snap Hexagon Scrapbook Page

Welcome back to Artisan Wednesday WOW! We are continuing with this February box that was full of the Kaleidoscope Product Suite this week!!!!! We hope you move on with our Artisan Design Team Blog Hop to inspire your creative juices!
You just came from Cathy Caines (she is a scrapbooking wonder woman) and next is Connie Collins, but before you go come check out my fresh and trendy hexagon scrapbook page!

My favorite things on this scrapbook page:
* The Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper with the Hexagon Punch
* The On Film Framelits Dies makes easy photo mats and fun cameras in the Silver Foil Sheets
*The arrows also are cut with the same framelits dies but stamped with Peachy Keen Stamp Set
* The Basic Black 3/4" Chevron Ribbon and Basic Metal Buttons with Whisper White Baker's Twine for some texture
* The "Oh Snap" title which I used my e-cutter and MDS download Epic Overlays stamp brush image (I am hooked on the e-cutter for scrapbook page titles)
This was really fun to put together and document this new event in my Megan's life! I love doing some traditional scrapbooking to capture these special moments even if they are 16 and no longer my baby. I know many of you use MDS for scrapbooking now, so you also could take this same page and create it there.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!

Leadership See Ya Later Card 1

Moving on to another great stamp set called See Ya Later from the Sale-A-Bration Special! I so wanted to make a scrapbook page with this image from the stamp set. One of my daughter's Allison nickname is "Alligator" but the creative mojo was just not flowing to get it done BUT no worries, it WILL happen! It is a perfect stamp for her!

Some of my favorite things on this card:
The gators going up the slant edge of the paper. Under the paper is the other part of the stamp set but you can not see it.
The cork strip is from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit. I just cut a strip of it off.
The texture of the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder under the chevron border punch.
The Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit Crisp Cantaloupe Twine ties with the knots at the ends.
I hope that you like my card and can use it to inspire you! Check back soon for more Leadership display samples! Much more to share!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge #53

This week Beth bought us a challenge to pretend to use our "scraps" to create this scrapbook page.  I really had a lot of fun with this sketch!  I first put in my punch "strips" in different lengths and the photos of my daughter and our pooch. Then the page just went from there!
I copy and paste a row of the sketch doggie image from All in the Family download using my align tools and spacing tools. Next I grouped them and copy paste several rows of them to get my background paper. And since my background was busy enough, I went to just solid cardstock for my "scraps". I just used my color palette line up for making my ombre look of pinks. Just some more re-coloring on the red dotted ribbon and flowers to fill in the design. Call it doggie done!

But wait! I have one more for ya! I played around with the sketch and turned it on its side and added a few more strips. I used the Beautiful Today download for the dsp and stamp images.

You can give the challenge a try and submit your own page if you click on the MDS Monday button on the right side! Follow the directions on the site to upload your page and link it from your blog or MDS.net. Winners and honorable mentions are announced every two weeks.
