Confirmation Celebration with MDS

I made some new party items with MDS for Megan's Confirmation Celebration. I created the projects in MDS, printed them and then cut them out. I made the banner the same shape as the banner of the mantle.
You know I LOVE banners! This was so easy to make with MDS too. I used the same format from the banner off this post on MDS.net : LOVE BANNER I just switched up the dsp to multiple yellow colored dsp patterns, added a decorative label punch and Sweet Details Letters.
We are super proud of our Megan! She proclaimed her faith with a speech in front of the congregation and took her first communion. Which she said that the wine was awful tasting! LOL
I can do all things thru Him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13 was her Confirmation verse and it is very special to me and now her.

MDS Blog Hop Friday - Retired Discs

Sorry for the terrible photo! I will try to take another one and replace this one soon!

I made this Trifold Wedding Invitation for Leadership MDS samples. I really like the idea of a Trifold Invitation with all the wedding information on them from the date to the address of their new home. This information on the card was all made up but close to some of the real info. Our wonderful neighbors' daughter is getting married next year! They are truely family to us! We so love Jessica and her fiance Jesse!

So what has this to do with Retiring CDs? The designer series paper on this project is from the Timeless Portrait DSP which is on this Avant-garde Collection DVD on sale right now for just 7 more days! That was a whole lot like "seven degrees of Kevin Bacon" style!

Gotta run! Lots to go on this holiday weekend! My daughter Megan's Confirmation is Sunday so we are having a family get-together after. I have to go make a banner so I will show you all that on Monday!

Thanks for hopping by!

Some of the ladies are on hiatus for a few weeks but look for them to come back soon!

MDS Blog Hop Friday - VACATION!

How funny that I picked this week's theme! Cause I am in way NEED of a vacation! I have been EXTREMELY busy with some very exciting MDS stuff. I have a MDS Club Class tomorrow and we are doing "SCRAPBOOKS"! Share more on that in the next weeks!
Here is what I came up with. I am trying to get last year's trip to Vero Beach done before we head there in September and I want it to be done FAST! Like in one night FAST! Completed too!
So I tried this never before tried, hardly used MDS function called AutoFill. Brillant! I selected the Convention download 24-page template and my photo file from our trip. Followed steps in process and BOOM, it was done! No guessing where to put my pictures, they were already in order of days in my photo file so they were in order. I had more pictures selected than what is in template spread, so the program just adds more template pages to finish it. AMAZING! I did have to make very little changes to each page but overall a success!
Here are some of my favorite pages from the completed album.

I added little journaling beside the page titles to keep it simple. By the way, this template is perfect for a beach theme vacation! Not just for Stampin Up Convention 2011!
Thanks a bunch for stopping by!
I hope you try that AutoFill function and see what happens!

mds blog hop friday - one more sketch

Yes, another sketch this week! I love them! Aly selected this gem of a sketch which I had lots of fun with. I wanted to use the Pocketful of Posies designer series paper only. I like many of the pattern paper in this set. Found some cute pictures of my girls from way back but coming up with a title was a problem. But this one fit ok. I will also go back and maybe add some journaling on the bottom right corner before printing. My favorite part is the flowers! They are Fun Flowers punches download and flower embellishments from the 2012 Fresh Flowers Calendar download.

Some exciting MDS news came out on Tuesday May 8th and you can see all about it HERE
I can not wait to get my hands on this new MAJOR update to MDS later this year! 75 new functions! WOW! WOW! WOW!  I do hear that we get to play with it at SU Convention in July so I am EXCITED cause I will be there!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Spring Flowers

Totally inspired by the latest Scrapbook Etc magazine but with Stampin Up products. The stamp set Mixed Bunch was in the Mini Occasions catalog and I was thrilled when it was carried over into the new Stampin Up catalog coming out June 1st! I used Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine for the stems. To add - punch a hole with a paper piercer in the spots you want to place the stems. To get the leaves, I stamped the circle medallion stamp image and then punched out the shape of the leaf with a 1 3/8" circle punch. The flowers were punched with the Blossum punch which also carried over to the new catalog. The flowers were popped up with dimensionals.
Ready to add a beautiful spring picture of my girls!

p.s. Trying a new look on the blog. MDS makes it so easy to change over and over.

MDS Blog Hop Friday - Sketch

Ever buy a stamp set, a pack of paper or a digital download that you thought you would just be using each and every day. Then you start using it and you do not like it....at all? That was me with this MDS digital download called Afternoon Tea II. This was a remake from something SU did a few years ago in paper and stamps. I loved it then but not so much now.
So I challenged myself to use it on this sketch challenge for our blog hop. Using just this kit and nothing more. I started with the basic layout of the sketch and then started to fill in the punch shapes with designer series paper from the kit. Added a photo of my daughter and then add the stamp image for the title. Had to change some of the dsp along the way to please my eye. The background is two layers - one in the straight blue dsp and then the top layer is the flower pattern and opacity to 25%. Gave my masculine background a more feminine look. I did not add any flags from the sketch only because I am "flag" out after all those pages this past weekend with flags.
So let me know what you think? Would you buy this digital download?

Tomorrow is National Scrapbooking Day! I will be creating some pages at some point tomorrow too! I made some scheduled time in my day to do so!

Color my World

Another fun, colorful and bright page today! I will add some more embellishments and a colorful photo to it soon. I used several different embossing folders on some of the pieces to add texture to the page. Fonts were all Cricut cartridges.  I really like this layout too. Definitely will use this one in a MDS page. Love the banner of pennant punch at the top. Wish SU had a flag punch - maybe in the NEW catalog coming out June 1st! A girl can wish right?
Check back tomorrow for my favorite day of the week!
MDS BLOG HOP FRIDAY!
Have a grrrrrreat day!

Always Love You

Here is another page from the scrap weekend. This page took me FOREVER to do. Too long for just one page! It is a case of a scrap page that I saw on Pinterest. The materials are all Stampin Up however the fonts are not. They are fonts from Cricut. Would that be cool if SU and Cricut made a deal together to make cartridges with SU images and fonts? Anywoo, I love how this page turned out after all the trouble of finding the font cartridges and sizing them to all fit on the page. The colors are Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Regal Rose and Soft Suede.
Have a great day!
