Made for Monday

I LIVE! We made it thru the flu! On to a better week...
Some weeks ago, we went to Taco Mac for dinner and asked the waitress for some of the square coasters. She let me have 12! :o) So look what I made with them! I used some of the retired paper cut 2 x 4 with a 1/2" strip in the center and the back is a 4 x 4 solid matching color. The binder clips are also covered in the matching cardstock. These are super duper easy to make!
Have a magical day!

Disney Tuesday

Today's Tip: Rachelle says:

Only purchase things ONCE. We repack the light-up toys we bought a few years ago. Same with the water bottle lanyards, pin lanyards, etc. Anything that you will repeatedly need each year, SAVE IT. We have a small container that is decorated as the "Disney Box." Since we drive to WDW, it goes with us every year. As soon as we get home, the autograph books, lanyards, light-up toys, etc. go in the box for the next trip. Taped to the underside of the lid is a list that I start replenishing with the very next grocery trip. I choose one or two things each trip, that way it doesn't eat into our budget (extra batteries, rain ponchos, refills for the first aid kit, and snacks closer to the trip).

Since owning DVC, we too have a Disney box. Holds all the above listed as well as Mickey towels and kitchen accessories that we use. I have a Disney backpack and fanny pack that I used each trip. Coffee filters cause Disney only gives you two free and they are the basket kind you will need. Disney popcorn containers that I simply refill to take. We bought those yellow Mickey rain ponchos back in 1989 and we still have them and use them if needed. The girls have Princess rain ponchos. Have a magical day! Cindy

Made for Monday

Here is a card cased from the Stampin Up catalog page 126. I am trying to use that Crushed Curry as a base color for a card and not the accent color for a card. I used Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry with the Crushed Curry. The stamp set is another new favorite called Circle Circus. The sentiment is from Wow Flowers stamp set. I also used the new dotted ribbon in Crushed Curry. This ribbon is fabulous! Very easy to use and make a simple knot bow. Have a magical day! Cindy

Top Blog Thursday - NEW!

Today is my first awarded Top Blogger post!
Each Thursday, I will select one of my fav bloggers and showcase their talented work. I will also case one of their cards or items. Sometimes it will be a total case and other times it will be a inspired case.
Today's pick is Kristina Werner,
Kristina use to work for Stampin Up and I have followed her blog for over 2 years. I love her clean lines and simple yet entertaining cards. I also learned to do my own french manicure from her blog. LOVE IT! Search on her blog, she has a video on it! This card was inspired by here:
I used Soft Suede, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. The Great Friend and Baroque wheel stamps. I took it a step further by adding the inside of the card to copy the image on the front.
I hope that you will search thru Kristina's blog and see her work.
Have a magical day!

Wacky Wednesday

Is this not super cute? It holds a lip balm or lip gloss and sorta like an ornament. I cased this from Heather's downline Martha. You can see the Martha original here: (these ladies are so smart!) After making this in Mississippi with my BFF Maureen, I made several of these for a little girl's birthday party as treats. Getting the measurements for the box was a little hard. It really depends on the lip balm or gloss you use. The butterfly is from the Big Shot Butterflies Die Cut and you need two of them. Colors are Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose using retired Walk in the Park Designer Paper. I also covered the lip balm in matching paper as well. Super cute like I said! Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tuesday

Disney News updates: I knew they would change this back as soon as the online dining reservation system was in place and working well. Disney announced that effective October 27, 2009, you will again be able to make Disney dining reservations 180 days (6 months) in advance. Thanks Mickey. I am not really shocked that Disney went ahead with this price increase even though the economy is down. They historically have had price increases in January and August each year. They skipped last August so they had to do it this time. They extended the free dining thru the end of the year to make up for the ticket price increase. Now a one-day, one-park base ticket now costs $79 for adults, $68 for children 3-9, an increase of $4 adult/$5 child. Adult Annual Passes went up $10 to $479; Renewal Adult AP went up $20 to $449. The Park Hopper option and Water Park Fun & More option both went up $2 to $52. Today's tip: “When visiting the Magic Kingdom right when it opens, hop on the train and take it to first stop. You will get off in the back of the park right by Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. You can usually ride these two "sought-after" rides while everyone else is hanging out on Main Street meeting characters, renting strollers, or walking to the front sections of the park.” Have a magical day! Made for a Monday

Yesterday was my nephew Collin's birthday! He turned super 6! I made this card especially for him cause I think he is an out of this world super kid! This card was made with all punches! Stars were stamped cause at the time I did not have the small star punch. The idea came from one of Stamp with Heather's online punch class. She is amazing at thinking of creative ways to use punches to make a card. Heather just announced this morning that she will be having her Simply Punches Holidays online class which starts September 1st. I plan to sign up asap! I love all her holiday creations! Interested? Check it out here: Have a magical day! Cindy

Festive Friday

Finally it is Friday and I am totally tired. This first week of school and getting up at 6 am is a drag. That is why I am late posting this morning. Oh wait, it is noon. Oh well, I...need...sleep. This adorable (I should say) set was given to my dear sweet sister-in-law Lois for her birthday last month. It includes a card with envelope, giftcard holder and a cupcake box! Yes, a cupcake is in that box! Chocolate with hot pink icing and sprinkles! It is so fun to make this set from Heather's Simply Babies online class and her blog. I showed you the giftcard holder on Wednesday. The colors are Melon Mambo, Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip. The stamp set is a hostess set called The More The Merrier. Love this set! I have been rockin the stamps for the past week and have tons of new things to photo then share next week. Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Thursday

Here is my idea for a character signing book. I got this idea from Heather's Simply Babies class. She made it for a baby organizer but you could use this project is several different a coupon book, idea book, etc. The characters or princesses sign the bottom half of the page and then you can stick pictures of them with the characters in the pockets. This measures 5 3/4 x 5 3/4. The papers and stickers are from Disney scrapbook kits.
All you need for supplies are one 12x12 designed paper, 12x12 extra heavy cardstock or chipboard, and three 8.5x11 cardstock. Ribbon, stickers, Crop-a-dile and jumbo eyelets. If you are interested in making this, send me an email!
Actually, Megan made the Mickey one by herself and Allison made the Princess one with my help. We sent these to our friend Alexa for her 3rd birthday in July. She and her family are going to Disney with us in September. She can use them when we go to the character dinners we have planned.
Have a magical day!

Wacky Wednesday

I cased this idea from Heather here: She even has a tutorial for you to make it! I used the colors: Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede and Kiwi Kiss. Again, love these colors together! I am not sure I like the old olive ribbon on this, but I did not have my Soft Suede ribbon on hand at that time, so it had to work. I also did not have the horizontal slot punch so I used the slit punch to run the ribbon thru the top flap. These are great for gift cards and I plan to make some Christmas ones for my craft shows. Have a magical day! Cindy

Disney Tip Tuesday

Finally back to some Disney tips! Our countdown begins to our September trip so I have been inspired recently while reading some Disney news. Here is a tip I found on When visiting a princess breakfast, bring along a Princess T-shirt from the Disney Store back home. Using a Sharpie, we asked the princesses to sign the shirt instead of an autograph book. (Our daughter is 3 and cannot read anyway.) "Emma" wore her Cinderella dress from home with shorts under to the breakfast. When the meal was over, we changed into the newly signed shirt and sent the Cinderella dress plus some new magnets back to the resort. She got compliments on the shirt all day long. Using a permanent Sharpie keeps the signatures looking like new. EDITOR'S NOTE: What really helps is if you have the shirt against something hard to write on, like the table or a clipboard. Also be sure to stretch out the fabric while it's being signed. Remember, not all characters may be able to sign T-shirts due to their "hands." Best to bring the shirt and have the characters sign it because they will not sign it if it on the child. Good tip! I will show you on Thursday my idea for a character signing book that I made for our little friend Alexa. Have a magical day! Cindy

One Year Anniversary!

I started this blog one year ago today! I started on the first day of school last year and today is the first day of school for my girls! I can not believe it, I have a 2nd grader and a 6th grader! I also hit over 5,000 hits on my blog over the weekend! I wanna party!!! But back to today's post... I cased these notepad holders and found they are so easy to make! You can find the tutorial on Angie's blog here: The colors are my new favorite combo- Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Orchid Opulance. I used the Circle Circus stamp set which I am finding is very versatile. Just made a Christmas card with them. (Think ornaments, show you later.) I plan to make a bunch of these easy post note holders for my Fall craft shows. Great for stocking stuffers or a simple token of thanks for someone special. Many many thanks to everyone so has visited my blog over the last year! I love to read the comments and response emails that I get. Something new for the new blog year...a new header picture with the blog title. I hope that you enjoy the next exciting year!!! Have a magical day! Cindy
